- Study the proposed COC model to ensure your team understands the spirit
and important details.
- Study the sourceforge.net's site on issues such as:
- Objectives
- Services provided
- Types of users
- Ways to attract different kinds of users
- Procedure for setting up and evolving OS projects
- Technology used
- A brief initial study.
- Study the Rice's Connexions project on issues such as:
- courseware model
- CNXML (briefly, may depend on the work of project #2)
- service provided
- Method of collaboration
- Procedure for setting up and evolving COC projects
- Types of users
- Ways to attract different kinds of users.
- Technology used.
- A detailed chart comparing Connexions and COC will be desirable.
- Specifying requirements of the COC prototype.
- Answer the same set of questions similar to the Connexions project.
- Which functionality to be implemented in the prototypes.
- Detailed specification of the selected functionality.
- Separately, research on open source tools/technologies that can be reused.
- Certain kind of communication with team #2 will be necessary.
Team management pointers:
- Team's website should keep evolutionary versions of requirements.
- Meeting minutes should include description of requirement and design decisions,
together with reasons.
- 'Documentation should be done at every step, not as an afterthought.'
