1. Discussed about the existing tool.

2. Requirements for the new tool include:

Add the graphical part to existing tool using JASPER and BIRT.

Use all the features in both JASPER and BIRT

User Interface needs to be enhanced with additional Input fields for the graphical part.

Input of the Adhoc Reporting tool is XML file.

Output of the Adhoc Reporting tool is also XML file.

Application is deployed in JBOSS Application Server.

XML Translator actually takes XML definition language from Adhoc reporting tool, translates it to XML definition of the JASPER and BIRT.

Needs to be integrated with JASPER/BIRT that works on Java/J2EE.

Current tool works with SQL.

Needs to be tested if it works with SQL 2005.

3. Things to do:

Study the nature and requirements of the project.

Study source code and GUI.

Study BIRT and JASPER capability, Input and Output format.
