Overview

 Welcome to the Capstone Project! This project "Integrating Collaborations tools with Software Development Assistance (SDA" ), is being developed for Tietronix Software Inc. This project uses an open source collaboration tools like Message board, Wiki, Time keeping system to integrate with a Team based process automation tool developed by Tietronix called SDA.

Requirements

SDA is an engineering process automation tool that already has built in support for software development. The tool is web based and is geared towards team development. SDA is built on J2EE technologies like EJBs, Struts, Servlets, JSP and more. The SDA UI framework is built upon a leading open source portal called Liferay. This project will enhance the SDA's features by adding more collaboration tools to it.

Project Requirements

• The team will integrate with SDA an open source message board.


• The team will do an extensive study of the open source message board and select one candidate for integration
• The team will convert the selected message board to a portlet (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portlet) and integrate with SDA
• The team will integrate with SDA an open source wiki.




• The team will do an extensive study of open source wikis and select one candidate for integration.
• The team will convert the selected wiki to a portlet and integrate with SDA
• The team will integrate the wiki with SDA content so that content could be easily modified.
• The team will integrate with SDA an open source time keeping tool.


• The team will integrate eHour (http://www.ehour.nl/index.phtml), open source time keeping tool, with SDA
• The team will write software to synchronize data from eHour and SDA.
